- "Embrace being different", familiar words to a person who knows all about not following the status quo. Francine, a lifelong Chicagoan, has always followed the beat of her own drum as well as her own heart. An endless love for music led Francine into the competitive world of broadcasting and began working at Washington, D.C. radio station WKYS-FM with radio/televison icon Donnie Simpson, the original host of BET’s Video Soul in the late 80's. She learned the ins and outs of professional broadcasting and developed a flare for programming and marketing. Upon receiving her B.A. from Columbia College Chicago, Francine landed a job at legendary heritage radio station WGCI-FM, where she worked with noted radio personalities Doug Banks and Tom Joyner, now both nationally-syndicated hosts for ABC Radio Networks. Francine has also lent her programming and marketing talents to legendary Chicago radio stations-WXRT-FM, WSCR-AM, WVAZ-FM, WPWX-FM and WSRB-FM, respectfuly. During a brief stint at The Jenny Jones Show, Francine was bitten by the television bug and in the fall of 2000 created an urban-alternative music video program called "THE ULTIMATE", seen weekly on Chicago Access Network Television(CAN-TV Channel 19). During the last 5 years, THE ULTIMATE has exposed Chicago audiences to music from Seal, Si*Se, Mandrill, Craig David, Ayo and other artists typically ignored by traditional R&B radio stations. Viewers enjoy the quirky, funky variety talk show so much that THE ULTIMATE was nominated as "Best Music Video Show" from The Chicago Music Awards. While looking forward to another exciting season for THE ULTIMATE-TV, Francine enjoys teaching broadcasting courses at Illinois School of Broadcasting and Kennedy-King College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago Francine, the self-proclaimed “Most Famous Unknown-Known" person in Chicago radio” is the embodiment of change and we absolutely love it!!
