A Celebration of Mothers

Come celebrate mothers and toast to Mothers of Distinction.  According to the 5^th commandment we are to honor our fathers and mothers in order to ensure long life.  Also, May is the month that we celebrate mothers on Mother's Day. Ms. Julia Ward and Ms. Anna Jarvis petitioned for this day to honor mother's and was signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914.   This Mother’s Day is the actual anniversary of the very first Mother’s Day in the country.  In honor of this grand occasion JEM Productions &  Ella Lacey, Inc presents A Celebration of Mothers on Mother’s Day Weekend May 5-8, 2011.  

The weekend begins with a film screening of Very Young Girls by GEMS: Girl Educational & Mentoring Services.; followed by a panel discussion.  GEMS is organized to give guidance and help to teenage girl prostitutes by helping them cope with the consequences and redirect their lives. Admission $10.00, concessions available. Friday, The Purple Rose, a moving Choreo Poem written by Michelle Rhnea and produced by JEM Production   The Purple Rose is an honest & moving portrayal of Domestic Violence which enhances self-images in women will be premiered; Family Rescue, an agency providing a safe haven for women and their children will be our hosts.  Admission $20.00;  H'orderves & Valet Parking available. Saturday is a black tie event toasting Mothers of Distinction for their hard work, leadership, and service.     

The weekend’s finale is the premier of , The Answer is Love, A Powerful Mixed Media Stage written by Corta Trotter and Ella Lacey, directed by Ella Lacey.  The Answer is Love is a seamless merging of stage and film; this innovative mixed media production will move your hearts and provide some clarity for people who have found themselves in similar situations.  Take a long hard look at The Answer Is Love, because it’s going to make you take a long hard look at yourself.  VIP Passes $45 with Theater & Dinner;  $25 show only.

Doors Open @ 6 each night and the program starts @ 7:30 Admission Costs:  Friday $20 in advance   $30 at the door. Saturday $30  in advance $40 at the door. Sunday $40 in advance $50 at the door.
